Welcome!

So, I've been meaning to start a blog like this for about a year now, and I'm FINALLY actually doing it. For those of us who live in Southeast Massachusetts, the quest for interesting, let alone great, food is a tough one. One on hand, we're about 45 minutes from some great food areas: Providence, Boston and Cape Cod. On the other hand, we're FORTY FIVE FREAKIN' MINUTES from anything more interesting than TGI Friday's or Panera.

I live with my husband in Mansfield, MA which is just to the south of Foxboro. It might also help people not familiar with the area that Mansfield also borders Wrentham, the home of the great Wrentham Premium Outlets. My town consists of a couple of good Chinese restaurants, about ten thousand Italian/pizza places (ranging from very good to very bad) and basically nothing else in the way of ethnic cuisine. The first mall in the area opened about six months ago (Mansfield Crossing) adding Mexican to the local options -- if Qdoba can be considered true Mexican.

The goal of this blog is to share my local (or "local-ish") restaurant observations and hope that anyone who stumbles upon this blog will also pass on any hidden gems, restaurants or other local areas of interest, that they may have found. I'm sure I'll also wax poetic on recipes, shopping, pop culture at times, so please indulge me. ;)
